Local Information

Criccieth

Criccieth is called 'The Jewel of Snowdonia'. It is a small seaside town on the South side of the Llyn Peninsular between Porthmadog and Pwllheli and south west of Snowdon itself.

The cottage iess than 6 minutes walk from the sea and 2 minutes walk from the town. The food shops in Criccieth are excellent. The butcher sells tasty meat, the baker has good bread and naughty cakes, a fishmonger/greengrocer sells fresh local crab as well as a good selection of other fish and vegetables and the deli has a great selection of Welsh cheese. There are other shops selling Welsh crafts, slate and crystals.

If you don't want to cook, there are a range of pubs and restaurants and a great fish and chip shop within walking distance of the cottage. Porthmadog and Pwllheli are both about 20 minutes away for more shopping opportunities and cinemas. The area has prestige restaurants for food fanatics.
